Whatever your running ability there are plenty of routes on Devon's Jurassic Coast. Run year round through breathtaking countryside along the South West Coast path, cross country and along many roads. Check out the websites for local clubs Axe Valley Runners and Exmouth Harriers, who cater for all ages and abilities year round. For a wild running experience, try the annual Axe Valley Runner's Grizzly Run in Seaton. Twentyish hilly, boggy, beachy miles of the multiest-terrain. Not the toughest race around, but an experience!
East Devon is the ideal place to take a riding holiday. The thrill of exploring our natural environment on horseback in autumn/winter cannot be surpassed. Glinting white houses nestled in Budleigh Salterton, bright red sandstone of Peak Hill and glimpses of fox, deer, squirrels and beautiful blankets of pink heather stretched out as far as you can see. Ride out from Branscombe or Budleigh Salterton along Woodbury common for awe inspiring views across the Jurassic coast. Check out www.ridingacademy.co.uk and www.devonriding.co.uk
